Leche Flan (Crème Caramel) – Filipino Style & No-Diet

Leche Flan (Crème Caramel) – Filipino Style & No-Diet

Creme Caramel

Leche Flan aka Crème Caramel (Filipino Style)

Leche Flan, a type of Crème Caramel, is one of my favorite dessert. Although, it originated from Spain and France, the Filipino style Leche Flan is what I like best. Filipinos would never miss a feast or party without a good dessert such as the Leche Flan. We take credit to the Spanish colonization brought to the Philippines. In Spanish, it is called “Flan de Leche”,  but we, Filipinos made our own version and name for it, as “Leche Flan”. It tastes the same, just different way of cooking, as well as serving it.

Creamy Loaded Baked Tomatoes – LCHF

Creamy Loaded Baked Tomatoes

Creamy Loaded Baked Tomatoes

I never tried baking tomatoes before. I usually eat them as they are with my food or salad, or eat them raw – like green tomatoes! I like eating tomatoes, not just because they are good for the heart and  healthy, I like unusual taste of it. Just like having Heinz Tomato Sauce on my french fries or sausage! :)

If you like to eat tomatoes with other stuff you like, the creamy loaded baked tomatoes would be best to try. Especially if you are on a diet. You can eat them as they are, or have them as a side dish before the main meal. This recipe is quick, but a bit tedious to prepare the stuffing! It is all worth it.

Red Cabbage Togue Sprouts ala Jonah

I’ve done so much cooking, but I didn’t really had much time to sit, write, and share my recipe on this blog. Considering that few friends are interested to know few of my recent cooking recipes, here I am writing it and publishing it :)

This recipe is something I somewhat came up with an idea from the Filipino style cooking of  Togue Sprouts (a.k.a Mongo Bean Sprouts). In my home country, the Philippines, we like stir frying togue sprouts with our vegetables. While I was pondering on a recipe on red cabbage, which I never tried before, I decided to stir fry cook it with the togue sprouts.

Rhubarb Cream Soup with Cinnamon

Rhubarb Cream Soup with Cinnamon

I was never a fan of eating rhubarbs until I tried to bake a rhubarb pie and got to taste it. It tastes sour as it is, but most people make use of it as a delicious pie dessert. I thought I’d share the rhubarb cream soup recipe I have.  I like the taste of it with cinnamon and milk on it.

Please take note that the recipe below is not totally low-carb because of the potato starch, but it can be healthier if you use sweetener, instead of the real sugar. Too much sugar is not healthy. Therefore, when I bake or cook desserts, I use Stevia sweetener/sugar.

It is definitely not bad to eat sweet desserts sometimes, as long as you know how to control your eating in moderation and you know how to use alternatives. I am publishing this recipe because of the special request of my dear friend Mary in Nevada, USA.
